Are you seriously going to take this?

Mon Nov 12, 2007, 6:11 PM
With every day our civil rights are being stolen from us. Now, more importantly than ever, we are in need of people to stand up for that which they hold dear. When we thought it couldn't get any worse with the Patriot Act, our friends in Congress are redefining a word we all should hold a lot dearer... PRIVACY! They are attempting to allow agencies the right to monitor all communications via phone line, email, text messeges, etc. They would be using these communications in order to fight the "War on Terror." As we all know... terror, and the war set up on it, becomes more and more fuzzy from one day to the next.
If we let them get away with this, and anything else, there will be no end to the fear they hold around our necks.
How did they come about this? What excuses are they using? Those on sites like Facebook and MySpace who give out their personal information. Those dubbed Millenials (the current teen generation) who seem to not care if they give out their home addresses and find themselves either raped or mudered due to their own incompetence. I won't pretend to understand why or how their minds find doing this acceptable, but innocence has its limits.
I can't think of a solution... maybe parents should pay more attention to their kids, maybe the kids should get their asses kicked so they know the world is a harsh place, maybe the government should stop trying to scare us with inphalable enemies as they mix blood and oil. We need to start paying attention, we need to start standing up for our rights.

It means that we follow the original constitution. We let each level of government handle its own thing without another level of government trying to take over. For example, every state in the union would be bound by the constitution, but power as a whole over certain matters (for instance, seat belt laws, legalisation of certain drugs for medicinal purposes, marriage, etc.) would divided between the states so that each state held its own power over the laws for those things for residents of that state. At least, that's what I get out of it. Look up Ron Paul on YouTube and listen to him. I typically don't vote and am anti-politics, but I like this guy enough that I'm going to vote this time.
